LOS ANGELES, Nov. 4, 2026. When Kane Brown booked two back-to-back nights in Grand Rapids, it said a lot about how country music travels now. A weekend residency in a mid-size Midwest city used to be rare for a crossover star. These days fans plan trips around it. In Los Angeles, that same weekend-trip habit is shaping how people use the city's college arenas.
One of the best of them is the Galen Center on the USC campus, at 3400 S. Figueroa St. The arena opened in 2006 and seats about 10,000. It hosts Trojans basketball and volleyball, concerts and graduations, and its steep seating bowl means there are few bad views.
Winter dates at the Galen Center
USC basketball is in full swing. The Trojans men opened with a 95-63 win over Milwaukee on Nov. 2, and the home schedule runs from Nov. 15 through March 2, 2027. The women's team, ranked No. 3, opened with a win at UNLV and plays its home opener against Utah State on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 5 p.m., the Daily Trojan reported. The women's home dates run through Feb. 25, and USC volleyball hosts matches Nov. 12 to 14.
The arena also has an Olympic role ahead. The Galen Center is scheduled to host LA28 Summer Games events from July 15 to 29, 2028.
For fans who travel for concerts the way Kane Brown's audience did in Grand Rapids, a USC game makes an easy add to an LA weekend. The arena is in the same neighborhood as Exposition Park, the Coliseum and BMO Stadium, and the Metro E Line stops at Jefferson/USC and Expo Park/USC. Campus parking structures open a couple of hours before tip-off.
The game-day crowd is loud, especially when the student section and the band fill the end lines. Lower-level sideline seats go first for big conference games, so it pays to book early.
Current dates and seats are on the Galen Center ticket page.
